Fourteen-year-old Ryleigh proves that age is just a number when it comes to entrepreneurship and overcoming health challenges. Diagnosed with celiac disease at nearly five years old, Ryleigh transformed her dietary restriction into opportunity by founding her own gluten-free bakery business when she couldn't find satisfying options in the marketplace.

The young baker takes us through her journey of living with celiac disease, an autoimmune condition that affects the small intestine's ability to absorb nutrients when gluten is consumed. Rather than viewing this as a limitation, Ryleigh began creating gluten-free desserts from an early age, perfecting recipes that even those without dietary restrictions find delicious. As our host Sequoia discovered after trying one of Ryleigh's cake balls, "You can't even tell a difference" – perhaps the highest compliment a gluten-free baker could receive.

What makes Ryleigh's story particularly remarkable is her business wisdom beyond her years. When asked what advice she would give to other young entrepreneurs, she offers this gem: "Don't let other people tell you what to do or what not to do." This independent thinking has clearly served her well in establishing RyleighCakes, her Facebook-based bakery business. Her parting words—"anything is possible, guys"—encapsulate the inspiring spirit of this episode. Whether you're gluten-sensitive or simply appreciate the determination of young innovators, check out RyleighCakes on Facebook and message her directly to experience these exceptional gluten-free creations for yourself. What health challenge might you transform into your next opportunity?

00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:10.644
This episode is proudly brought to you by our legacy sponsor, victoria Baalke, farm Bureau Insurance Agent.

00:00:10.644 --> 00:00:12.505
Welcome.

00:00:12.505 --> 00:00:21.827
Welcome to another episode of experiencing amazing transformation.

00:00:21.827 --> 00:01:00.289
My name is Sequoia and I am your co-host, and today we have Ms Riley, so tell us about what you do.

00:01:01.119 --> 00:01:08.102
I make gluten free desserts for people with a gluten allergy or if they just want to eat healthy.

00:01:08.805 --> 00:01:10.810
What got you into doing this?

00:01:11.150 --> 00:01:20.971
There was not a lot of gluten-free options, so I wanted to start my own bakery to basically like create more options.

00:01:21.992 --> 00:01:24.706
So what was the first thing you baked that was gluten-free.

00:01:25.141 --> 00:01:26.948
I do not remember, because I've been gluten.

00:01:26.948 --> 00:01:34.507
I've been baking gluten-free stuff since I was like ever since I could probably cook, basically.

00:01:34.567 --> 00:01:36.956
Really so you started out all gluten-free.

00:01:37.200 --> 00:01:40.328
Yeah, I have celiac disease so I cannot have gluten.

00:01:40.328 --> 00:01:44.268
Okay, and I got diagnosed when I was four, almost five.

00:01:45.441 --> 00:01:50.000
Okay, so for our viewers that don't know about that disease, can you tell us a little bit about it?

00:01:51.162 --> 00:02:03.731
It is an autoimmune disease that basically, if you have gluten, your I think it's your small intestine it shuts down and you can't absorb the nutrients that you need.

00:02:04.320 --> 00:02:04.802
Wow.

00:02:04.802 --> 00:02:08.651
So I did try one of your cake balls.

00:02:08.651 --> 00:02:16.503
Yes, beautiful For those of you that looks at labels and you see gluten-free and you just like, oh, I want to try that.

00:02:16.503 --> 00:02:22.509
You can't even tell a difference, really, and I think that's a very cool thing about gluten-free.

00:02:22.509 --> 00:02:28.211
I know that there are a lot of children your age that wants to start a business.

00:02:28.211 --> 00:02:32.628
What would be something you would tell them to help them get started?

00:02:33.120 --> 00:02:55.581
Don't let other people tell you what to do or what not to do, because I like to do what others want me to do and that will like ruin your business so that is good advice, and by you saying that you didn't allow anybody to stop you or deter you, because you knew what you wanted to do, that's right.

00:02:55.622 --> 00:02:58.068
Riley, can you tell the people how old you are?

00:02:58.068 --> 00:03:02.161
I am 14 years old, anything is possible, guys.

00:03:02.161 --> 00:03:06.752
A 14 year old that has her own gluten-free bakery business.

00:03:06.752 --> 00:03:09.687
So, riley, where can we find you?

00:03:10.790 --> 00:03:13.939
I have a Facebook account called Riley Cakes.

00:03:13.939 --> 00:03:15.485

00:03:17.610 --> 00:03:19.336
